questions about my car

ok sooo
the cel goes on for like a day and then off for like 2 and then back and fourth and back and fourth
kinda bugging me, and ive been putting it off because school is comming up and i cant really afford to take it and have somthign that needs to be fixed right now i was considering taking it to that place that does free system checks just to make sure its my cai though.
(note: i verly closely monitor the temp, idle speed and sound just incase) im assuming that its just the intake setting the cel off.... idk what aspect of it, maby i installed the cai to the cars disliking...

also i just recently passed 4,500 miles on my car and now i have recently noticed that the maintenance required light is coming on.
now in my little head i would like to think that the car has something built in it telling that light to blink because im coming up one 5000 miles (aka first free checkup) and not that theres something wrong....
so assuming that its does mean i need to go into my 5k checkup for free...
do i need to take my fugita cai off?

if i take my car to them with it on and the cel is also on u think they are gonna give me iloveteamkaizen?

Didnt you ask this question before? We told you there is either something wrong with you MAF or you got a air leak somewhere. This is the only thing it could be.

mm well last time i brought my car in for the oil change with the fujita cai still intact.. heyy if you look in your glove compartment and pull out the warranty booklet...they give you free checkups at 500 and another one.. im not sure but look at it!! read it!!!

Could be your 02 sensor. Depending on who installed it and how could be the answer.

Your CEL came on after the CAI was installed right? Also, could be that you should change that oil ASAP! Taking it to Auto Zone wouldnt hurt. Im sure they can tell you right away. And I dont think they charge!!!

Not much we can say here though. When it comes down to the CEL...its so hard to define what the problem is!!!

****NOTE**** IF YOU TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP W/ THE CEL ON, THEY WILL NOT SERVICE YOUR CAR CUS OF THE CAI. GET THAT CEL TAKEN CARE OF B4 YOU GO IN!!!!!!!!

im assuming its a sensor...
idk ill check the sensor and get the wrnch out and tighten it up some more, check the connections below.

they do that system check for free right? i think somewhere else does it. it was double a somthin somthin

MAF = Mass Air Flow Sensor.
If you touched or bumped the sensor while installing the CAI, then it can be bad!!! It is VERY sensitive!!!!! It could mess with your computer and you will have to replace it!

About the delarship, YES, With the CEL ON, they will say something. But if its off, and you go in for an oil change and whatnot, they will take care of it.

can i buy a new MAF by itself?
i dont recal if i was rough on it or not when i installed, but if they are cheap i wouldnt mind getting a new one.

Did you unplug your battery before you installed your CAI?

Try resetting your ECU. Disconnect your car battery for 10 min and re-connect it. That should clear the problem. If the CEL comes back on, have the code read at AutoZone for FREE and that should help you as to what the problem is (if there even is one).
