| well that limit is there for safety. The stock tires are rated for a 100 MPH. Not sure if you have tires rated higher now or not but thats why cars will only let you go so fast. How much faster are you wanting to go? Becareful out there getting caught over triple digits and you lose your licence | |

He has a point, and theres more to it....JAIL TIME!!!! But if you were to do it on the track...thats a diffrent story. There is a piggy back programer that takes off the rev limiter, but thats about it. You can go faster if you build up your engine the right way and bypass the rev limiter you will go about 120 MAYBE 140. But like amskater said....going over a 100 on the streets can cost you BIG TIME!!! Thats why I only do 130 on the freeways....LOL!!!! j/k......

| yeah yeah. to be honest im not much of a racer, i like to hit the canyons from time to time but im a fairly docile driver...ish. i just hate the fact that that limiter is there ya know? its not a necessity to have it gone i would just like it. and no im not on stock tires. | |

| I know that you may control yourself on the streets. Canyons on the other hand, you dont need to top off 100+, you must work on suspension. A little speed is good for the canyons but not power. I have beat a 350z and a couple of mustangs up in the canyons, they didnt have suspension and the blls to take the hair pins. So, what I said to do would please you and do you good. I know on Scions, the piggy back unit cost near $1500. I looked into it before, but I realized that what I need in the canyons and the 1/8th mile is just simple building and more lowend speed. Of course high end is important for "freeway racing" but I do pretty well with that I got.
We will talk more on Wednesday if you like, hopefully you undersatnd what Im talking about.

| Is the governor part of the ECU? My dad probably can do it, but he won't. I asked him and he said he won't do it. | |

Yes sir. And I know your dad wont do it. Hes a smart guy...LOL!!! He wouldnt want his son to kill himself or get in trouble!! Im pretty sure Dane will understandwhen I talk to him face to face that what he wants isnt really such a big deal. He wants to go fast and wants top speed for canyon runs. And if hes on the track (or street..LOL) he wants to beat 100mph.

But for the $$, its not worth the fix. If you put on the right parts and use the right resources, you will be pumping enough HP to not even notice. I believe that if you go turbo, they have to change the ECU or at least piggyback it...something for you to think about.
